Robert L. Woodson is Retired from L3 Harris, where he was President of the Advanced Command Control, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C2ISR) Systems Sector business based in Rockwall, Texas. 

Woodson has over 38 years of technical and management experience in providing innovative engineering products to the United States Military, Department of Defense (DoD), various Government agencies, and international allies across the globe. Prior to that role, Woodson served as Vice President of Engineering for L3 Technologies Mission Integration in Greenville, Texas. He previously held positions at Lockheed Missiles and Space Corporation and the Naval Surface Weapons Center prior to joining L3.

Woodson received a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Jackson State University.  He has also completed the L3 Mission Integration President’s Leadership Program and the L3 Corporate Executive Leadership Development Program through The Wharton School of Business.

Woodson believes that “to whom much is given, much is required”. During his career, he always made it a priority to be a bridge builder both professionally and in his community.  He personally recruited students from all across the country and hired and mentored engineers for over 29 years including students from several HBCUs including North Carolina A&T, Tuskegee, Alabama A&M, Southern, Prairie View, and Jackson State.  Woodson also developed and maintained mentoring relationships with students that went to work for other companies.

In the community, Woodson has provided math and science tutoring to kids in the community, as well as worked with the local school district on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) awareness and focus to encourage children to consider education and careers in technical fields.  Woodson also coached youth football at the local Boys and Girls Club. Woodson also supports the community through the projects and programs of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Woodson and his wife Ethel have been married 40 years and are the parents of two adult daughters.
